| I see that I've neglected my Xanga site a bit. I'm not even sure who still reads this but for your sake I'll write a little ditty here. Josko and I are enjoying our "first christmas" together. We went to the Christmas Eve services last night (i was singing in the choir... thats why it was multiple services!) and enjoyed being together with the Body of Christ in worship as we celebrate His birth. After the service we headed off to the store to grab some last minute things... like fruit to make the fruit salad for Christmas morning brunch at mom's. But... don't ya know, all the stores were CLOSED! How dare they!?! Grrrrr. We did manage to find Walgreens open... and every one and their brother was there. We grabbed a few items but of course, no fruit and then headed out to find something quick to eat. And again, everything was already closed. So, we decided to head over to the light show... we knew that wouldn't be closed! It was a good show and we enjoyed being able to watch it from the comfort of our warm car. When we got home we made some dinner (since all the other places were closed!) and watched a movie. When it ended it was exactly midnight! Since it was already Christmas, we got a little excited to open presents We enjoyed giving our gifts to each other but tried to pace ourselves. We had decided to each leave one gift under the tree for the morning so that we'd have something to open when we woke up. But once all the other gifts were opened we looked at each other, then at the gifts, and decided we'd like to open the last one too! Now we are getting ready to head over to mom and dad's for a little while and then I'm off to work. If you'd like to keep more up-to-date with what is happening in our lives, i'm on facebook now or you can email. I will occational keep writing on here but for the most part, i'm not really keeping up as well as i could on xanga. have a very merry christmas!! | | |
| Yes, I know this post is LONG overdue. And its going to be brief... but I just wanted to check in and let all of you who still read this page know that I'm doing well. I got married to Josko about a month ago and we are moving this weekend to my church's mission house. We are very excited about this move but are really going to miss the amazing view we have of Lake Michigan and the lighthouse in Grand Haven. Being married is lots of fun...and quite a bit of work too! I know there are several of you I haven't seen in a long time... I'm sorry Send me a message and lets get together!!! | | |
| i know, i've kind of slacked off on this xanga thing. sorry. the new job is great, i still enjoy it even after nearly a month! the bombardment of information is slowing down and I'm feeling more comfortable every day. as for the wedding... the cake is ordered, the reception hall and catering details have been refined, the invitations are in the process of working their way out the door (hopefuly in the next week!), bridesmaid dresses came in, tuxes are ordered, hair appointments are being made, musician is getting ready, and i'm sure a few other details are working themselves out too. i'm pretty stress free about the whole thing... at least for now! oh, but the best part... we just reserved the plane tickets for Josko! He will be here in three and a half weeks!!!!! YEA! I can't wait we will be having some other guests from Croatia arrive on Sep 1st and they will be in Michigan for the full two weeks! What a great treat!! We do have a need though. Vjenci and Anita will need transportation while they are here. They do have international driving licenses but we just do not have a spare vehicle for them to use during their time in West Michigan. I'm putting this announcement/prayer request out there for you all in case you know of someone (or happen to BE someone) who has a car (or truck or piece of metal with a couple wheels that moves) that would be willing to lend it to this amazing couple for 16 days. if you know of someone or you are someone who can help with this need please reply to this post, email me, or call me! thank you so much. | | |
| the new job is going great! i'm really enjoying meeting the members of the clubhouse, getting to know my co-workers, and learning the ropes. there is a lot to learn but it seems to be a wonderful environment to learn in! until the grand haven clubhouse finds a new facility to meet in i'll be working mornings in holland and afternoons back in grand haven. there is significant driving involved but the county is gracious enough to supply a work car as transport! i'm very thankful for this position and am eager to keep learning!! josko had his fiance visa interview at the US Embassy this morning... it was the final step in the whole process that has taken us on a roller coaster ride over the past 6 months. the visa was approved and all plans will continue to move forward for our September 15 wedding life is beginning to take on some routine (not too much to be a negative... just a nice flow)... rise and shine at 6, bed time at 10... everything else in between! its a good schedule... at least it will be once i get used to the 6 am part there is lots to be thankful for these days. praise the LORD for His supply! | | |
| I'd like to share with you all that I've found a job! Yesterday I was offered a Mental Health Specialist position working with the Grand Haven Clubhouse through Ottawa County. I'm very excited about this job, its just what I've been praying for! Thank you to all of you who have been praying with me for this job. I'm so ready to start working!!! I still have to wait until July 9 to officially begin but I can be patient a little longer. YEA!!!! | | |
